I know you will find the document on verb patterns quite useful. The verbs are arranged in alphabetical order and next to each of them you will learn whether what should follow is an infinitive(bare or to infinitive), a gerund or a clause. This list was taken from:

NARRATIVE. Outline

A good narrative must include some basic information. In order to write better narratives, you may start by designing an outline which basically answers these questions
::
WHEN?
WHERE?
WHO/WHAT? (protagonists)
WHAT HAPPENED ? (this is the key element in a narrative: THE EVENT)
WHICH CONSEQUENCES DERIVE FROM THE EVENT?

Write a story between 120-150 words.

The story should begin:

She heard the knock and breathed deeply before opening the door. She didn't know what to expect afer so many years.

DICTIONARIES OF COLLOCATIONS

In order to buy a dictionary, it is essential that you know about it and that you compare the same kind of dictionary against others of a similar type(for example, a learner's dictionary cannot be compared with a dictionary of phrasal verbs because the criterion for developing each one of them has been different).
